We made the frames for the raised beds, and got a huge pile of dirt. Which actually is going pretty fast, and we might actually need more.
Our 2021 Planting Schedule
- The first weekend in April – indoors
- Corn
- Peas
- The second weekend in April – indoors
- Last weekend in April – I improvised and use paper towel and tp rolls inside of plastic lettuce boxes to start Russian sunflowers and Cowpeas/black eyed peas and they did amazing!
- First weekend in May – I finished two of the raised beds
- Junebearer strawberries – 2 small plants and about 15 bare roots
- Purple & green asparagus bare roots – about 10 each
- Second weekend in May – I finished two more beds
- 3 rows of garlic bulbs that I had soaked for a couple days in compost tea/fertilizer
- 4 Potato bags with red, yellow (sprouted from our misfits box) blue and gold potatoes – ordered from Stark Bros
- Transplanted the amazing Russian sunflowers that had far outgrown the lettuce box
